One of the fun things about being a local non-profit museum is that your friends and neighbors are also your patrons. So when you re-locate, they have a vested interest in where you moved to. We were fortunate enough to secure space in a well-known location, the historic Co-Op Plaza on 2nd Ave. At one time it housed the first theater in Fairbanks – the Empress. Some of us, of a “certain” age, remember it fondly because the only toy store in town was in there. Now businesses such as a bustling crepe shop, book store, artist co-op, and a custom knife shop, are our neighbors.
